President Abdulla Yameen Abdul Gayoom has last evening met ‎with the people of Lhaviyani Naifaru.‎

Addressing the people, President Yameen remarked that his ‎Government would not discriminate islands or people based on their ‎political affiliation. Speaking in this regard, President appealed for greater ‎cooperation from the Members of the Parliament in attracting necessary ‎investment capital financing for ‎key development projects in the Maldives.‎

Underscoring the Government’s key pledge for economic ‎transformation, President Yameen spoke of the Government envisage to ‎increasing per capita income levels, and stabilizing the economy. ‎

In his speech ‎ President Yameen reiterated the Government ‎commitment to uphold press freedom in the Maldives. The President ‎stressed that his administration would not obstruct the freedom of ‎reporters. ‎

President Yameen highlighted the steps being taken by the ‎Government to improve the health service sector. In this regard President ‎underlined the Government endeavors to review the grading of nationwide ‎healthcare institutions, and the implementation of new salary framework ‎for doctors.‎

Continuing on, President Yameen announced the Government plan ‎to commence sea ambulance services by September. ‎
