President Abdulla Yameen Abdul Gayoom has today inaugurated the land reclamation project in Baa Eydhafushi.
Speaking at the inauguration ceremony held in Eydhafushi this morning, President appealed to set aside the political differences for the building of our nation. In this regard, the President urged the people to ensure youth participation in the developmental endeavors.
Highlighting that the land reclamation project was the ‘rebirth’ of Eydhafushi Island, the President advised the people to use the new land effectively. Continuing in this regard, the President said that it gives him immense pleasure to realize the completion of his manifesto pledges.
Noting that majority of the Maldivian populace were youth, President Yameen said that his Government welcomes youth with different ideologies. However, the President stressed that the differences of opinions must not hinder the developmental plans for the island. Continuing in this regard, the President noted that prioritizing societal harmony will stop the youth going astray and taking the wrong path in life.
President underscored that developmental aspirations can be achieved by utilizing the available resources in the Maldives, and by attracting foreign investors to the Maldives. In this regard, he asserted that investors now want to invest in the Maldives with the prevalent peace and stability in the country since the change in leadership.
