President Abdulla Yameen Abdul Gayoom has today laid the foundation for the 3000 housing units and office complex to be constructed in Hulhumale, by Sealife Global Inc Pvt Ltd.
At the ceremony held this evening, the President said that the Government was committed to developing Hulhumale in to a youth village, as specified in his electoral manifesto. He also said that the Government gave high priority to the socioeconomic growth of the country, as well as to the wellbeing of the youth.
The President noted that the youth played a prominent role in stabilizing the Maldivian economy, describing them as the source of energy that drove the Government. The President noted that the Maldivian youth was deprived of the opportunities to be employed, and opportunities for shelter. He said that the Government would always gratefully welcome any project that was going to cater these needs.
In his speech, the President assured foreign investors of the Government’s commitment to improving the foreign investment sector of the Maldives. He further assured foreign investors that partnering with Maldives would bring them good economic return, as well the satisfaction of helping in the socioeconomic development of a friendly, brotherly people of an Islamic country.
