The new Ambassador of the Republic of Guinea accredited to the Maldives, H.E. Alexandre Cece Loua presented his letter of credence to President Abdulla Yameen Abdul Gayoom, this morning.
At the ceremony held at the President’s Office to present credentials, President Yameen welcomed Ambassador Loua to the Maldives, and congratulated the Ambassador on the commencement of his term.
Meeting the new Ambassador after the ceremonial presentation of credentials, the President briefed the Ambassador on the Government’s plans for the advancement of the Maldivian economy. In this regard, the President spoke on the ongoing development programmes, and the Government’s strategies for expanding the country’s tourism sector. The President also expressed his confidence that the Maldives and Republic of Guinea would be able to establish lasting relationships through business and commerce, during Ambassador Loua’s tenure.
The Ambassador of Guinea assured the President of his commitment to strengthening the bilateral bonds between the two countries. He shared with President Yameen, the ongoing developmental projects for the economic growth of Guinea. He also noted the cooperation that existed between the two countries at multilateral forums such as the United Nations and the Organisation of Islamic Cooperation (OIC).
The meeting was attended by Minister at the President’s Office, Hon. Mohamed Hussain Shareef, and Ambassador-at-Large H.E. Abdulla Hameed.
