The new High Commissioner of the Republic of Fiji accredited to the Maldives, H.E. Yogesh J. Karan presented his letter of credence to President Abdulla Yameen Abdul Gayoom, this morning.

At the ceremony held at the President’s Office to present credentials, President Yameen congratulated the High Commissioner on his appointment.

Meeting the new High Commissioner after the ceremonial presentation of credentials, the President expressed his confidence that the existing good relations between the Maldives and Fiji would further strengthen during High Commissioner Karan’s tenure.

The High Commissioner of Fiji assured President Yameen of his commitment to strengthening bilateral relations between the Maldives and Fiji.

The meeting was attended by Minister at the President’s Office, Hon. Mohamed Hussain Shareef, and Ambassador-at-Large H.E. Abdulla Hameed.
