Vice President Dr. Mohamed Jameel Ahmed has said that the Government’s policies will not be shaped in a way that would undermine the citizens in any way. The Vice President made this remark last evening, while speaking at the inauguration of the Government’s social housing scheme "Gedhoruverikan".
Underlining that the housing pledge was one of the highest priorities of the Government, the Vice President said that the issue of housing was the root of the social problems in the country. Speaking in this regard, he said that the President’s policies were formulated in a way that it would ensure sustainable development. He also said that the government would implement these policies in a way that the people were least burdened.
In his speech, Vice President Jameel pointed out that the previous housing projects did not accord special consideration to the most underprivileged percentage. He said that this project would ensure that the housing issues were resolved, and housing means secured for all those families. He further assured that the Government would not discriminate anyone regarding their political affiliations.
