Vice President Dr. Mohamed Jameel Ahmed has officially inaugurated Arabic language teaching in Maldivian Schools. The inauguration ceremony was held this afternoon at Hiriya School.

Speaking at the ceremony, Vice President said that the Government accords a high priority to Arab-Islamic studies and will put in every effort to familiarize Arabic language studies across the country.

Highlighting the introduction of Arabic studies would bring great happiness to the Maldivian people, Vice President expressed hope that it would boost the discipline and strengthen Islamic faith of the people.

Vice President Jameel further deliberated on the significance of inculcating good discipline and values in students, for the success, peace and prosperity of the ‎nation. Continuing in this regard, he underlined the need to introduce new ideas in to our education system.

In his speech, Vice President also noted the initiatives currently being undertaken by the Government to promote Islamic principles and faith among the school children.

To launch Arabic language teaching in schools, Vice President Jameel took an introductory Arabic language session for some students of Hiriya School.
