Three very important agreements were signed today between the Governments of Maldives and Sri Lanka, as part of President Abdulla Yameen Abdul Gayoom’s current visit to Sri Lanka.
Following are the agreements that were signed:
1. MoU on combating Transnational Crime and Developing Police Cooperation between Sri Lanka and the Maldives
The agreement was signed by the Sri Lankan Inspector General of Police N.K. Illangakoon, and the Police Commissioner Hussain Waheed.
2. MoU for Vocational Training and Skills Development between Sri Lanka and the Maldives
The agreement was signed by the Minister of Youth Affairs and Skills Development of Sri Lanka, Dulles Alahapperuma, and the Minister of Foreign Affairs Dunya Maumoon.
3. MoU on Sports Cooperation between Sri Lanka and Maldives
The agreement was signed by the Minister of Sports of Sri Lanka, Mahindananda Aluthgamage, and the Minister at the President’s Office Mohamed Hussain Shareef.
President Yameen and President Mahinda Rajapaksa were in attendance at the signing ceremony.
