President Mohamed Nasheed has sent a message of sympathy to President Asif Ali Zardari of Pakistan following the devastation caused by heavy flooding in Pakistan.
President Nasheed’s message read as follows:

“I have been deeply distressed and saddened to learn about the death of hundreds of people and devastation as a result of heavy flooding in Pakistan. At this most difficult time, the government and the people of the Maldives join me in sending our heartfelt sympathy to you, the Government and the people of Pakistan, especially those directly affected by the floods. We also send our sincere condolences to the families whose loved ones died in the tragedy.”
