Ambassador of the United States to the Maldives Michele J. Sison has paid a courtesy call on Vice President Dr Mohamed Jameel Ahmed. The meeting was held this afternoon at the President’s Office.
During the meeting, Vice President Jameel and Ambassador Sison discussed the close bilateral relations that exist between the two countries and ways to further strengthen the ties between the countries.
Vice President Jameel further explored opportunities to increase the US assistance to the Maldives in areas such as law enforcement and capacity building.
At the meeting, Vice President Jameel expressed appreciation to the United States for the developmental assistances the Maldives continues to receive from the US.
Vice President Jameel was joined at the call by Ministers at the President’s Office, Hon. Mohamed Hussain Shareef, and Hon. Abdulla Ameen, as well as Deputy Minister at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Ms. Fathimath Inaya.
