In a letter to the Prime Minister of India, His Excellency Dr. Manmohan Singh, Maldives’ President Abdulla Yameen Abdul Gayoom has reassured the Indian leader of his administration’s commitment to further strengthening relations with India.
Emphasising that the diverse Indo-Maldives people-to-people contact offers avenues for further cooperation, the President highlighted the importance of close cooperation between the South Asian neighbours.
In his letter, President Yameen also invited Prime Minister Manmohan Singh to conduct an official visit to the Maldives, at a time of mutual convenience.
