President Mohamed Nasheed has established Southern Health Services Corporation Limited as a company with hundred percent government shares.
The President also appointed members to the Board of Directors of the company.
Mr Ali Shaheem was appointed as the Chairman of the Board. Other members included in the board are:

2. Mr Noorulla Saeed
3. Dr Ali Muznee
4. Mr Ali Zaid
5. Ms Fathimath Nareema Hassan
6. Mr Ibrahim Sabree
The key objective of this company would be to ensure economic and social development, and availability of adequate healthcare for the people of the Maldives. Objectives of the Corporation also include establishing and maintaining quality healthcare facilities in Southern region of the country in a sustainable manner.
