President Dr Mohamed Waheed has today officially opened the new building of Arabiya School.
Speaking at the inauguration ceremony, President Waheed underscored the important need for adopting an Islamic education system, according to the Quran and Sunnah, in Maldivian schools.
Highlighting the great social divides in the Maldivian society, President noted the need for an Islamic education system to strengthen the social fabric and establish good codes of conducts within the society.
He said that the establishment of an Islamic education system based on Islamic values was the way forward to steer the country to the right direction.
Highlighting the high educational standard and excellent conducts of the graduates of Arabiya School, President spoke of the exceptional achievements made by the students throughout their lives. President, therefore, expressed his gratitude to the principal, teachers, parents, school board, PTA Members and school staff for their contribution in providing such an exceptional education.
At today’s ceremony, President launched the 9th issue of the student’s magazine ‘Al Manhal’.
