President Dr Mohamed Waheed has said that the completion of the second phase of Hulhumale’ will make the island the most beautiful area of the Greater Male’. He made the statement while speaking at the ceremony to exhibit the master plan of the second phase of Hulhumale’.
The President said on completion of phase 2, a large number of people would be able to live a comfortable life in Hulhumale’.
He said the government’s aim was to complete the dredging and reclamation work in about 6 months.
In his speech, President also spoke on the importance of having a long term vision for the development of the country. In this regard, he said the Maldives would develop only with a united effort of all citizens, with a common vision for the future of the country.
President thanked Singapore National University for the support in designing the project.
