President Dr Mohamed Waheed has today inaugurated the road development project of Thaa atoll Vilufushi.
Speaking at the inauguration ceremony, President Waheed said the project was part of the nationwide road development project. He said 9 roads of Vilufushi would be developed under the project.
President also said the road development project that has been underway over the past 2 years, was the largest such project apart from Male’ road development project.
Noting that Vilufushi was one of the worst affected islands from the Asian Tsunami, President Waheed said many more services needed to be provided for the island. In his regard, he shared details of the developmental plans made for the island. He also expressed confidence that the government would receive cooperation from the people in carrying out the projects.
