President Dr Mohamed Waheed has today inaugurated the Food Court area at the Ibrahim Nasir International Airport (INIA). Speaking at the ceremony, President Waheed expressed confidence that the airport would become a world class airport.
In his speech, the President underlined some of the projects planned for the development of the airport. In this regard, President said that he was hopeful there would be major investments at the airport and expressed confidence that the government would soon be able to acquire financing to build a new runway.
The President further stated that the food court was the first big project in a series of many projects that would lead to the final destination in airport development.
He also underlined the developmental benefits of the project to the country. In this regard, he said that he was particularly happy that many young Maldivians would find employment in the new outlets.
President Waheed expressed appreciation for Minor International Group for taking the initiative to establish world famous and well known food chain brands in the Maldives.
