President Dr Mohamed Waheed has sent a congratulatory message to Mr. Kevin Rudd, on his assumption of office.
The President’s message reads as follows:
“It gives me great pleasure to extend warm congratulations and sincere well wishes on behalf of the Government and the people of the Maldives and those of my own to Your Excellency, as you assume office as the Prime Minister of the Commonwealth of Australia for a second term.”
“I am confident that under your able leadership, Australia will continue to play a prominent role in the challenging global issues. I look forward to working closely with you toward further strengthening the ties of friendship and cooperation between our two countries.”
