President Dr Mohamed Waheed has sent a message of sympathy to President of the United State of America Barack Obama, following the loss of life and widespread devastation caused by the destructive tornado that hit the Oklahoma City.
The President’s message to the US President reads as follows.
“It was with great sadness that I learned about the devastating Tornado which hit Oklahoma City, causing loss of many innocent lives, injury to thousands of people, as well as irrevocable damage to property and infrastructure.”
“At this time of National tragedy, the Government and the people of Maldives join me in sending our profound sympathy to you, the Government and the people of United States of America. I wish the recovery efforts every success and commend the tenacity of the American people in the face of such tragedy.”
“Please also convey our sincere condolences to the members of the bereaved families.”
