President Dr Mohamed Waheed has today inaugurated the Hithadhoo Water Supply Project and the Development of New Road Networks in Hithadhoo.

Speaking at the inauguration ceremony of Hithadhoo Water Supply Project, President Waheed noted that today was a historic day. He expressed contentment with the establishment of a modern desalination plant, providing clean drinking water to a high number of households.

He said that government was putting in every effort to provide clean drinking water to all the islands in Addu City. The President also said that sewerage systems would soon be installed in all islands of Addu City.

Speaking at the agreement signing ceremony of Hithadhoo road development project, President said that while the current phase of the project would develop 2.3km long roads, the development of 2.8 km roads would commence in January 2014. He further expressed hope that the project would be completed by the end of 2014.

In his speech, President Waheed appealed to everyone to cooperate with the government in carrying out all developmental projects.
