Vice President Dr Mohamed Waheed has participated at the function to mark the 6th anniversary of Hulhumalé Health Centre. The function was held this evening at Ghazee School.

Speaking at the function, Dr Waheed highlighted this year’s World Health Day theme, “Urbanisation and Health”. He said the focus on urbanization and health as a theme for World Health Day 2010 is timely and highly relevant.

Continuing in this regard, the Vice President said control of pollution and improvement in sanitation go a long way to mitigating health risks and that greater community support was needed to create a healthier environment.

In his speech, the Vice President congratulated all the staff of Hulhumalé Health Centre on the occasion of the 6th anniversary of the centre.

He also spoke on improving the quality of services being provided at the health centre.
