As part of his trip to North Ari atoll, President Mohamed Nasheed has, this afternoon, visited Feridhoo.
The President met with the residents of Feridhoo and spoke on the importance of education for the development of a nation.
He said that development cannot be achieved merely through “concrete structures” but that broadening people’s mind and education were also essential for development.
He further said that we must all strive to achieve better academic results by utilising whatever facilities available.
President Nasheed also discussed include nation-wide transport system government has pledged to establish and the providing basic utilities such as water, electricity and sewerage.
He also spoke on the general well-being of the people of the island.
