President Dr Mohamed Waheed has this afternoon signed the Book of Condolences placed at the Bangladesh High Commission in Male’, following the passing away of President, Zillur Rahman.
The President was greeted on his arrival at the High Commission by the Bangladesh High Commissioner to the Maldives, Rear Admiral Abu Sayed Mohammad Abdul Awal.
Writing on the Condolences Book, the President extended on behalf of the government and the people of the Maldives, and on his own behalf, profound sympathy to the people of Bangladesh. He also wrote that late President Rahman will be remembered as a leader of Bangladesh and South Asia, who championed the cause of democracy and human rights.
