Secretary General of South Asian Association for Regional Cooperation (SAARC) Mr Ahmed Saleem has paid a courtesy call on President Dr Mohamed Waheed.
At the Meeting held in President’s Office this morning, the President and the Secretary General discussed the on-going activities of SAARC and the preparations underway for the upcoming 18th SAARC Summit to be held in Nepal.
Secretary General briefed the President on the status of implementation of the decisions made during the Seventeenth SAARC Summit held in the Maldives. He updated the President on the efforts made by the Maldives as the Chair of SAARC to strengthen the SAARC Secretariat. He also informed the President on the Council of Ministers Meeting to be held in Maldives this year.
President assured of the government’s cooperation to SAARC activities.
