President Dr Mohamed Waheed has sent a message of greetings to the Maldivian people, on the occasion of the country’s adherence to Islam.
In his message the President has appealed to all Maldivians to work together towards strengthening the familial ties and brotherly relations among us. The President has said that it was important to boost the Islamic spirit in our hearts, and to uphold Islamic values.
President Waheed has noted that the true reason Maldives has remained an independent and sovereign state was its embracement of Islamic; and that the long existing brotherly relations among us symbolizes the true essence of Islam.
