During his ongoing visit to Egypt to attend the 12th summit meeting of the Organization of the Islamic Cooperation (OIC), President Dr Mohamed Waheed met with the President of Palestine Dr Mahmoud Abbas.
The two leaders discussed ways to enhance the existing close friendly relations between the two countries.
President Waheed congratulated Palestine and its people for becoming the non-member observer State in the United Nations. He also reassured President Abbas of Maldives’ strong support for the peace process.
President Abbas said Maldives and Palestine enjoy close fraternal relations and thanked the government and the people of Maldives for the strong support to Palestine.
