President Dr Mohamed Waheed has called upon everyone to work together, for the nation and to protect the people’s interests. The President made this remark while addressing the people of Kan’duhulhudhoo as part of his current visit to some islands in the North Huvadhu Atoll.

The President said that for the country to move forward, everyone at the different levels of the society needs to be considerate and work with each other; and those working at the state institutions need to be cooperative and supportive of each other. He also said that it was crucial to let everyone’s voices be heard, and to respect each other in the society.

Noting that the needs of the people were still not met in many islands, President Waheed stressed the country’s current economy’s inability to fulfil all their dreams. The President also noted that a lot of the time, priority was given to less important things. He said that by spending the time and money on those prevented the authorities from carrying out their duties efficiently.
