President Dr Mohamed Waheed has today appointed Mr Ahmed Sareer as the Permanent Representative of the Maldives to the United Nations.
Speaking after the presentation of the Letter of Appointment to
Mr Ahmed Sareer, the President expressed his hopes that during Mr Sareer’s tenure, the relations between the Maldives and the United Nations, and relations with other member States of the organisation, would further strengthen. The President also highlighted the importance of working to facilitate the United Nations’ support and assistance in all areas of need for the Maldives.
The President made this appointment as stipulated in Article 115 of the Constitution.
