President Dr Mohamed Waheed has congratulated the Maldives’ under 23 football team who won the Mahinda Rajapaksa International Football tournament. The Maldivian team won 2 to 1 against Pakistani team, in the final match played this afternoon.
In a telephone conversation to the Minister of Human Resources, Youth and Sports Mohamed Hussain Shareef, the President extended his sincere congratulations and warm wishes to the players, coach, manager and other officials of the national team. Praising the players on their performance of this afternoon, the President noted that the championship was an honour achieved for the country.
