Heads of Galolhu Madrasa and heads of the Galolhu District have briefed President Dr Mohamed Waheed on the potential issues that might arise due to the Male’ City Council’s decision to privatize the school.
At a meeting held at the President’s Office this afternoon, heads of Galolhu Madrasa and the district heads underlined that Galolhu Madrasa was a school establish and managed with a lot of participation and hard work of the people from the district. They noted that any decision made regarding the school must reflect the people’s opinion.
Highlighting that privatization of the school was a huge developmental step; they noted that the potential consequences of privatizing the school must also be considered. Further, the team stressed the high number of preschoolers currently enrolled at Galolhu Madrasa, saying that such a drastic change should seriously be deliberated.
At the meeting, the President expressed his appreciation of the many people who had contributed towards the establishment and management of Galolhu Madrasa. He noted that there were some legal matters to be looked into in solving the issue, and that the government would take the necessary measures in sorting out the matter.
