President Waheed meets members of Inter-Parliamentary Union mission

President Dr Mohamed Waheed today met with the members of the Inter-Parliamentary Union (IPU) Mission. The meeting was held this morning at the President’s Office.

At the meeting, discussions were held on the existing good relations between the Maldives and the IPU, and ways to further strengthen the partnership.

The President noted the importance of strengthening the democratic system in the Maldives. He also highlighted areas in which IPU could provide assistance to the Maldives in overcoming the challenges.

Members of the Inter-Parliamentary Union Mission assured of their continuous assistance to the Maldives, and further emphasized the importance of constitutional reform for a better democratic system.
