The American Deputy Assistant Secretary for South and Central Asia Ms Alyssa Ayres, has today paid a courtesy call on President Dr Mohamed Waheed. The meeting was held this afternoon at the President’s Office.
At the meeting, President Waheed and Ms Alyssa Ayres discussed the current political situation in the Maldives, and the economic state of the country.
The President briefed Ms Ayres on the many steps being taken by the government to overcome the challenges being faced, and the measures being taken to adopt renewable energy technology in the Maldives. He further expressed his gratitude to the American government for their continuous support.
