Vice President sends his condolences to the family of late Dr Afrasheem Ali, MP

Vice President Mohamed Waheed Deen has sent his condolences to the family of the late Dr Afrasheem Ali, Member of Parliament for the Raa Ungoofaaru region. Late Dr Afrasheem Ali was brutally stabbed in the early hours of Tuesday morning.

In his letter sent to the wife of Dr Afrasheem Ali, Ms Quraisha Mohamed, the Vice President had extended his heartfelt condolences to the bereaved family.

In his letter, the Vice President had noted Dr Afrasheem Ali’s invaluable, sincere services to the country, especially in religious education and in the parliament.

The late Dr Afrasheem Ali achieved his PhD in Islamic Revealed Knowledge and Heritage (Fiqh and Usoolul Fiqh) from the Islamic University of Malaysia, in 2007.
