At today’s cabinet meeting, the members discussed establishing a central office for government procurements.
Members of the cabinet highlighted the importance of such an office.
A cabinet sub-committee was formed to explore the matter further and to put forward recommendations. The members of the committee are Minister of Education Dr Musthafa Luthfee, Minister of Tourism, Arts and Culture Dr Ahmed Ali Sawad, Minister of Home Affairs Mr Mohamed Shihab and Attorney General Uz Husnu Suood.
At today’s cabinet meeting, President Nasheed also briefed the cabinet members on his visit to Copenhagen to attend the United Nations Climate Change Conference.
