As part of his ongoing visit to Copenhagen to participate in COP15, President Mohamed Nasheed has yesterday met with some Heads of State and Government currently in Copenhagen to attend COP15.

President Nasheed met with Primer Wen Jiabao of China, Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong of Singapore and Prime Minister Abhisit Vejjajiva of Thailand.

Discussions were focused on ongoing climate negotiations in Copenhagen.

During the meetings, President Nasheed emphasised the importance of achieving an agreement in these negotiations.

The President and other leaders also discussed the close bilateral relations between the Maldives and their respective countries, and ways of further strengthening these relations.

In the meeting with the Prime Minister of Singapore, Prime Minister Lee agreed to provide H1N1 vaccine to the Maldives.

President Nasheed also met with US Secretary of State Hillary Clinton, and Norwegian Minister of International Development Erik Solheim, yesterday.

Last evening, the President attended the dinner hosted by Queen Margrethe II of Denmark for Heads of State and Government attending COP15, in Copenhagen.
