New High Commissioner of Australia accredited to the Maldives, Robyn Mudie presented her letter of credence to President Dr Mohamed Waheed this morning.
At the ceremony held at the President’s Office to present the credentials, the President congratulated High Commissioner Mudie, and welcomed her to the Maldives.
Meeting the new High Commissioner afterwards, the President noted that Australia has always been a good friend of the Maldives, and reiterated Maldives’ full commitment to strengthening the good relations between the two countries.
President Waheed expressed his gratitude to the Australian government for their continuous support to the Maldives in all areas of need, particularly in the area of education.
At the meeting, High Commissioner Mudie expressed her confidence that the bilateral relations between the Maldives and Australia would flourish in the future, and assured of Australia’s continuous assistance and cooperation.
