Mayor of Shanghai City Han Zen has hosted a luncheon in the honour of President Dr Mohamed Waheed and First Lady Madam Ilham Hussain. The luncheon was held at the secretariat of the Mayor of Shanghai.
Speaking at the function, the President noted the similarities between the congestion problems faced in Male’ City and Shanghai City, reflecting on his tour of Shanghai Urban Planning Exhibition.
In his speech, the President also said that there were lessons to be learnt from Shanghai’s experience in its road to development, in solving the congestion issues being faced in the Maldives.
The Shanghai City Mayor gave assurance to the President that he would provide the fullest cooperation and assistance in solving those issues in the Maldives.
Minister of Tourism, Arts and Culture Ahmed Adheeb Abdul Ghafoor and Minister of Foreign Affairs Dr Abdul Samad Abdulla were in attendance at the luncheon hosted by Shanghai City Mayor Han Zen, in the honour of President Dr Mohamed Waheed and First Lady Madam Ilham Hussain.
