Maldives Airports Company has declared its support for the government’s environmental initiatives, and congratulated the government for its efforts to reduce the effects of climate change.

Speaking with President Mohamed Nasheed, in a meeting held at Male’ International Airport before his departure to Copenhagen, Chief Executive Officer and Managing Director of the Company Mr Mohamed Ibrahim said the Company has decided to actively contribute to government’s plan to make the Maldives carbon neutral.

During the meeting, the CEO presented a letter to the President detailing the measures the Maldives Airports Company is taking to make its operations sustainable and environmentally friendly.

The letter also outlines the programme the Company is aiming to introduce concurrently with the UN Climate Summit in Copenhagen.
