Former President Maumoon Abdul Gayyoom represented the Maldives at the funeral of late Prince Nayef bin Abdulaziz Al Saud of Saudi Arabia.
Former President Maumoon Abdul Gayyoom met with King Abdullah bin Abdul Aziz Al-Saud of Saudi Arabia, and conveyed condolences on behalf of President Dr Mohamed Waheed, the government, and the people of Maldives. King Abdullah conveyed his best wishes and gratitude to President Waheed and the people of Maldives.
The funeral prayers of Prince Nayef were held at the Masjid al-Haram, after Maghrib prayer Sunday evening. He was laid to rest in Al-Adl cemetery in Mecca.
