President Dr Mohamed Waheed has sent a message of condolence to King of Saudi Arabia Khadim Al-Haramain Al-Sharifain Al-Malek Abdullah bin Abdul Aziz Al-Saud, following the death of Prince Nayef bin Abdulaziz Al Saud.
President Waheed’s message to King Abdulla reads as follows:

It is with deep shock and sadness that I learned of the passing away of Prince Nayef bin Abdulaziz Al Saud. Prince Nayef’s dedication to the progress of Saudi Arabia and his steadfast efforts to eradicate terrorism from the Kingdom will always be remembered.
At this time of profound grief and personal bereavement, the Government and people of the Maldives join me in extending our heartfelt condolences to Your Majesty and the members of your esteemed family.
We pray to Almighty Allah for His eternal blessings on the soul of the dear departed and to grant you and the members of your family the fortitude and strength to bear this great personal loss.
