The Commander in Chief, President Dr Mohamed Waheed has urged all MNDF personnel to stand by their oath, loyally and unwaveringly. He made this appeal while speaking at the oath taking ceremony of the graduates of the 57th basic training course, conducted by the Defence Institute for Training of MNDF.
In his speech, the President spoke on the three major principles on which lies the foundation of a true soldier - to stay firm in Islamic principles, provide selfless national service, and maintain the rule of law.
Highlighting the expansion of the military service to all parts of the country, President Waheed noted the establishment of four area commands in order to bring the services closer to the people. He also noted that the continuous efforts to provide faster services, need to be further strengthened and developed.
