Indian National Security Advisor calls on the President

National Security Advisor of India Shivshankar Menon has today paid a courtesy call on President Dr Mohamed Waheed.

At the meeting held this morning, the President expressed his gratitude to the Indian government for their continuous assistance in all areas.

At the meeting, discussions were held on the political situation in the Maldives, and the talks being held with the Commonwealth. The President also briefed the National Security Advisor on the recommendations by the IMF concerning the economy of Maldives.

National Security Advisor Menon highlighted on the close bilateral relations between the Maldives and India, and assured the President of the Indian government’s fullest cooperation and continuous assistance to the Maldives.
