Representatives of Gaafu Alifu Atoll Council and Island Councils have today met with President Dr Mohamed Waheed. The meeting was held at the President’s Office.
At the meeting members of the councils congratulated the President on behalf of the people of Gaafu Alifu atoll, following his assumption of office. They also conveyed to the President, the people’s support to the government. Members of the councils further briefed the President on the developmental challenges faced in the atoll.
President Waheed expressed his gratitude to the people of Gaafu Alifu atoll for their support and cooperation. The President also assured council members that the people’s concerns would be looked into, and necessary measures would be taken.
