President Mohamed Nasheed has met with Uz Husnu Suood and Ms Aishath Velezine who are members of the Judicial Service Commission. The meeting was held today at the President’s Office.
The President said that under Article 115(a) of the Constitution, he is obligated to fully implement the provisions of the Constitution and the law, and to promote compliance by organs of the State and by the people.
Speaking in this regard, he said that although the Regulation of Criminal Procedures was part of the General Regulations Act that was passed by the People's Majlis, the Courts have still commenced implementing the Regulation.
The President also called on the members of the Judicial Service Commission to create greater awareness among the people on the work of the Commission.
