President Dr Mohamed Waheed today met with Dr Hamad Al Tuwaijri, a former member of Kuwait’s Parliament. The meeting was held this afternoon at the President’s Office.
Discussions at the meeting were focused on increasing Kuwait’s investments in the Maldives’ tourism sector.
President Waheed assured Dr Hamad Al Tuwaijri that investor protection mechanisms such as independent institutions and free media, were in place in the Maldives. He also noted that such investments would boost the country’s economy and help increase job opportunities for Maldivians.
