President Dr Mohamed Waheed has today made a written appeal to the leaders of all political parties in the Maldives, urging them to renew their commitment to the all party talks in the best interest of the nation.
Commending the developments registered at the discussions so far, President Waheed noted that progress had stalled and indeed some parties had suspended their involvement in the all party talks, since the disruption of the Parliament on 1 March. The President reiterated his belief that dialogue was the only way forward.
President Waheed also thanked the political parties for their contribution in conducting peaceful talks so far among all parties.
