Norwegian Ambassador accredited to the Maldives Hilde Haraldstad, has paid a courtesy call on President Mohamed Waheed this morning.
At the meeting, the President spoke on the challenges faced by the government, and the measures taken to overcome those challenges. He also detailed on the progress being done on the roadmap through the ongoing multi-party.
President Waheed assured Ambassador Haraldstad that his government was committed to continue important policies and projects initiated by the former administration. Particularly, the President highlighted the government’s plans in carrying out the carbon neutral policy.
Ambassador Haraldstad congratulated President Waheed for the impressive work done by the government in restoring peace and calm in the country. Further, the ambassador stressed on the importance of securing democracy and upholding peace.
