The Canadian High Commissioner to the Maldives Mr Bruce Levy today has paid a courtesy cal on President Dr Mohamed Waheed. The meeting was held this morning at the President’s Office.
Discussions at the meeting were focused on strengthening bilateral ties between the two countries and the current political climate of the Maldives.
Briefing the High Commissioner on the political situation, President Waheed said he was willing to hold early election, but that it could only be done within the Constitutional provisions.
High Commissioner Levy stressed the importance of dialogue in resolving political disagreements.
