President appoints a new member to the Committee of National Inquiry, replacing Ahmed Mujthaba

President Dr Mohamed Waheed has appointed Dr Ali Fawaz Shareef to the Committee of National Inquiry, replacing Ahmed Mujthaba.

The President made this replacement because, as Ahmed Mujthaba was also the convener of the all-party consultative meetings, the President believes a conflict of interest could arise in fulfilling the two functions.

Following this change, members of the Committee of National Inquiry are:
- Mr Ismail Shafeeu
- Dr Ibrahim Yasir Ahmed
- Dr Ali Fawaz Shareef

Mr Shafeeu will be the head of the Committee.
