President makes the Maldives Broadcasting Corporation as state broadcaster

President Dr Mohamed Waheed has today made the Maldives Broadcasting Corporation as the new state public service broadcaster as per the Act establishing the Maldives Broadcasting Corporation.

Earlier the Civil Court had declared Maldives Broadcasting Corporation as the state broadcaster. The Act establishing the Maldives Broadcasting Corporation also states that the Television Maldives and Dhivehiraajjeyge Adu should be transferred under the Maldives Broadcasting Corporation.
