Prime Minister Manmohan Singh of India has assured the Indian government’s full support to the government of the Maldives.
During a telephone conversation with President Dr Mohamed Waheed, Prime Minister Singh highlighted the long existing bilateral relations between India and the Maldives, and discussed further strengthening of these relations.
The President expressed his gratitude to the Prime Minister for the telephone call and offering India’s support to the Maldivian government.
In addition to the phone call, the Indian Prime Minister has also sent a congratulatory message to President Waheed, following his success to office.
